At Home with Francesca Hayward
Between two worlds: As a Principal Dancer of the Royal Ballet, Francesca Hayward’s everyday life is shaped by precision and discipline – while her London apartment feels calm, personal, and full of warmth. Together with her fiancé Cesar and their dog Pablo, she has created a home that offers space to unwind and fully switch off. Soft materials and sculptural shapes give the apartment a modern elegance with a subtle retro flair.

Compact, yet effortlessly elegant!

London apartments are rarely spacious – but that’s exactly where Francesca finds their charm. The moment you step inside, your eye is drawn to both the sofa and the bedroom, everything feels close, intimate, and connected. What stands out most is the light: it transforms the rooms throughout the day, filling the apartment with warmth and openness.

The Sofa as a Happy Place

The living room is the heart of the apartment – and the burgundy WOLKE sofa is Francesca’s absolute favourite spot. Its subtly shimmering fabric creates a striking focal point, complemented by travertine and wood accents as well as textiles in soft pastel tones.

Grace in every corner!

Chosen Together

Francesca describes her interior style as something that is still evolving. What she’s learning along the way is that a shared home doesn’t come from a single vision, but from compromise, conversation, and things they both truly love. Favourite pieces from each partner, combined with materials full of character, create a personal atmosphere.

Artistically curated for the next pasta session

The dining area combines clean lines with colorful details. Chrome, glass, and wood meet design coffee-table books, drawings, and sculptural objects. The mix is reminiscent of mid-century interiors, yet feels distinctly contemporary thanks to its restrained colour palette and the deliberate combination of materials.

A softer kind of spotlight

Ballet is a theme that runs through everything

Francesca doesn’t leave ballet at the theatre. It lives in her posture, in the way she moves, and in how she experiences space. At the same time, her home is not a second stage. Here, intensity is allowed to soften. After the demands of the studio, coming home means landing for her. The tension of the day stays outside; inside, lightness and intimacy take over.

Where stillness begins

Francesca wanted her bedroom to feel like a little nest: calm, quiet, and intentionally pared back. While the living area is a place for collecting, arranging, and living with things, this room remains more uncluttered. Soft textures, natural materials, and harmonious shades of white and green create a sense of visual calm.

'Coming home feels like landing.'

'Home is the place where I can let go, recharge and simply be myself.'

'Ballet is not something I leave behind in the theatre. It lives within me.'

'At the end of a performance, I say to my feet: well done.'
